Searching for 'Deborah Cukierman'

In an email from Gabriela Garcia Calderon Orbe in Peru, a request has been made to contact a Deborah Cukeirman (maiden name) who may be the daughter of the late David Cukierman - (see In Memoriam, Photo 30 in 1955 Photos and Photo 26 in 1956)

If you have any information about Deborah, please email Gabriela directly and let us know so we can announce it!

My name is Gabriela Garcia Calderon and I'm writing you from Lima, Peru.

I've got Aaron's e-mail at the web page. I really hope this doesn't disturb you nor Aaron, for that's not my intention at all. I'm writing you because I'm trying to locate a friend from my childhood. Her name is Deborah Cuckierman, and when we were kids lived in the same neighborhood on Lima. Her father's name was David Cuckierman, and as I found Mr. Cuckierman's name in your web page (after looking for his name at www.google.com), I wonder if it's the same person. I've seen the picture you've got there, and even though I was very young when the Cuckiermans moved, the man in the picture looked familiar to me.

The Deborah I'm looking for is about my age (I'm 35 years old). She had an older brother, Eli. Her mother's name was Eva Bitterman, but I'm not sure if I have the last name correctly spelled. Ms. Eva's mother's name was Rachel, or Raquel, in Spanish. I know Deborah's father died, in the early 80's.

The second reason for me to suppose you may know my friend Deborah's family is that somehow I remember that they went to live to Australia. But I'm not quite sure of that last information.

Please, if I'm right and the Cuckiermans you know are the same I'm looking for, let me know. And if possible, let me know how to contact Deborah. You may like to ask her first if she knows me, and in that case she can write me to my e-mail: gabriela.gco@gmail.com.

We lived in General Garzon Avenue, in Jesus Maria, Lima. My house had the address 1936 and hers was 1944. I had one older brother, Ernesto (everyone knew him as Tito) and one younger sister, Cristina. We had this wonderful neighbor, Dora, but we all called her Yoyo, who had one son, Fico, and one daughter, Leni. Yoyo had also two dogs, Polly and Paloma (Dove) and made really good cakes. Deborah's nickname was Cuqui. My friends know me as Gaby, and that's how I think Deborah used to refer to me. Sorry for any inconvenience I may have caused you.

Thanks a lot. All the best from Peru,

Gabriela Garcia Calderon Orbe.
