Notes on the photos:
18. Max liked Elfi. In those years girls evaluated romantic attachments
by judging whether 'he' was 'good enough' for 'her'. But, to my
recollection, no-one ever spelled out what this meant.
20. I shared a tent with these girls and took this photo. I think it was
the first Betar camp for all of us, and was a turning point in my life.
