Leah Feder
December 30, 1937 - June 10, 2026
In 1949 Leah became one of the first members of the rejuvenated Betar in Melbourne which was now made up of Australian born Jewish youth.

By the year 1955 Leah became
one of the new group of madrichim who had come up through the ranks and together with Aaron Ninidek was selected by the Zionist Federation in 1956 to participate at the Machon.

On her return in 1957 she became part of the leadership of Melbourne Betar and after three years of intensive activity in the movement decided it was time to fulfil the ideal of Aliyah to Israel.

Being in possession of two languages, Hebrew and English
, she became the executive assistant to the head of the Prudential Insurance branch in Israel dealing in maritime shipping and after an extensive period moved to another large company with similar commercial activity.

Upon retirement she took up public service as a volunteer with the Ramat Gan Municipality dealing with the elderly citizens at one of their institutions, until short time before her passing. She is remembered as one of those who contributed to the advancement of Betar in Australia.

She is survived by her brother
.

Our sincere condolences to Shim on Leah's passing.

Elaine and I remember Leah's visit to our home in Philadelphia 24 years ago and the few meetings we had on our trips to Israel.

We will remember her!
